NOTICE OF TOWN OF DUTCH JOHN MUNICIPAL ELECTION FOR 2019
A Town of Dutch John Municipal Election will be held on November 5, 2019. General Election to elect mayor and two (2) Town Council Members to serve four-year terms. If necessary, a primary election will be held on August 13, 2019.
Each person seeking to become a candidate must file a Declaration of Candidacy Form in person with the Town Recorder, Harriet Dickerson, at 103 – 2nd Ave., Dutch John, Utah, between June 3, 2019 through June 7, 2019. She will be available on those dates between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm. No filings will be accepted after that time. Additionally, any resident of the Town of Dutch John may nominate a candidate for office by filing a Nomination Petition with the Town Recorder between June 3, 2019 and June 7, 2019.
TO RUN FOR OFFICE A CANDIDATE MUST:
Be a registered voter of Daggett County, Dutch John Precinct #1, (US Citizen and 18 years old)
Must have resided in the Town of Dutch John for the 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the date of the election.
Any mentally incompetent person, any person convicted of a felony, or any person convicted of treason or a crime against the elective franchise may not hold office in this State until the right to vote or hold office has been restored.
A person may be a candidate for only one office at any one election.
REQUIREMENTS FOR FILING
Candidates shall submit a declaration of candidacy form to the Town Clerk/Recorder between June 3, 2019 and June 7, 2019 during the hours of 8am and 5pm, download the form by clicking the link or;
A nominating petition may be submitted to the Town Clerk/Recorder signed by 25 residents of the Town of Dutch John who are 18 years old or older, or 20% of the residents who are 18 years old or older and must be filed with the Town Clerk/Recorder between June 3, 2019 and June 5, 2019 during the hours of 8am to 5pm. Contact the Town Clerk for a copy of the petition.

TOWN OF DUTCH JOHN ELECTION - WILL BE A MAIL-IN BALLOT ELECTION.
THIS MEANS: YOUR BALLOT MUST BE POSTMARKED THE DAY BEFORE ELECTION: MONDAY - NOVEMBER 4, 2019.
ANY BALLOTS POSTMARKED ON “ELECTION DAY” WILL BE LATE AND WILL NOT BE COUNTED. HOWEVER, YOU MAY HAND DELIVER YOUR BALLOT TO HARRIET DICKERSON, 103 2ND AVE. UNTIL 8:00 P.M. ON ELECTION DAY, NOV. 5, 2019.
THERE WILL NOT BE A POLLING PLACE OPEN ON ELECTION DAY.
